Love the New ValueTales!
I read the old ValueTales when I was a young girl and loved them. Now we have the New ValueTales for our boys, they love them too! The improvements are terrific. Thanks for making these available again.   Kristen -- NY

Great Book for Grandchildren
I read The Value of Believing in Yourself to my two grandchildren on their last visit and they listened to every word. They even had answers for the questions asked in the story. They really enjoyed the brightly colored art and I liked the Discussion at the end that led to a wonderful conversation. I am planning to get the entire set.   Terry -- Lincoln, NE

Passing it on...
These books were some of my favorite growing up. And now that my oldest child is 6, I really wanted a set to share and read with her like my mother did with me. I knew the books had been out of print for some time, so I went online to find someone who would be willing to part with their collection. What a great surprise it was to find this site!! Combining a bit of history with a great lesson about life, like these books do, is ingenious. It's been 30 years, but I remember the great stories and values taught in each of these books. And I hope my daughters love them as much as I did.

Still Making An Impact
My brothers and I grew up with the Value Books series, and this was one of our favorites. My mother still has the full set, but now my brothers and I are starting our own families and would love to each have a set. If you can get a hold of copies, get them. The lessons they teach are invaluable - I would recommend them to any parent and for any child.   Kelly Schopp -- Ann Arbor, MI

Best teaching book EVER!
I had this series as a child and LOVED it. This particular book was my favorite in the series. I can still remember the storyline. My set had been handed down to my sister. Now that she has grown up, I'm not sure where they have landed, but I intend to get the entire set again.   S. Selby -- Las Vegas, NV

Childhood Memory
My Mom used to read this to me when I was little, and coincidently, I picked it up from our library while writing my personal statement for graduate school. I also am looking for "invisible enemies" like Louis Pasteur's; I am pursuing a Ph.D. in Immunology and Microbiology.   Megan -- Sydney, Australia

The First of a great series
This one is a classic. It has a perfect attention span for a 5-9 year old. This comes from a series. All of these books they put out are awesome! I wish they were back in print. They just don't make books like this anymore.   Britt Hanson, Michigan (MI).

This book had great impact on my life
I had this book when I was little and I used to beg my mom to read it to me over and over. I loved it. It got me interested in science and research. It is at least partially due to this book that I entered college as a biology major. Highly recommended - I wish it was still in print.   Tom Clause, Iowa

I grew up loving these books!
I moved around a lot as a kid and I managed to misplace the entire series in one of the many garage sales we held. I have missed the Value books ever since. They provide an excellent means of teaching kids some of the most abstract and difficult lessons of life. I hope that someday I can find them again. In the meantime, I can comfort myself in imagining that they have found their way into some small hands that will cherish them as much as I did (and still do!).   Craig -- Chicago, IL

This has been my 4 year olds favorite book for more than a year!
My mother bought this book at a garage sale to keep at her home when we visited but my then three year old boy pleaded to bring it home with us. It's almost worn out now and we're looking to find the entire series before Christmas.   Mathew B -- Erie, PA

This is a fabulous book
My six-year-old daughter picked this book out of a used book store two years ago. She must have had me reread it to her over fifty times since then. It's the kind of inspirational book that I WISH she would read--I can't get over the fact that there is something about this book that makes HER want to pick it up again!   Barbara Oakley, Rochester, MI

The Value of Honesty
One thing that I really like about this set of books is that the characters used to teach values are real, which makes it easier to "sell" the value to kids. 5 year olds will believe a cartoon dinosaur, but the older set, 9 and up, are harder and these books help!

Confucius was told by his father at a very young age that he would grow up to be a wise man, so he set out to educate himself. He read books and observed people and learned that honesty and integrity were very important. When the chance arose to teach his values to others, he did, and became so well known throughout China that he was sought after as an advisor. Before his death, he had many followers and those followers helped him to write down much of his knowledge to share with others.

At the end, there's some historical information about his life, making this a useful book for those biographical reports all kids have to do. It's a good story, with a great message and kids will read and remember it.
  Anna Ligtenberg -- Georgia

I'm a teacher who LOVES ValueTales!
I teach K-8 grade children who have behavioral and emotional problems/disorders. This series is wonderful. My mother read them to me when I was growing up and now I read them to my students. I use these books for all grade levels. They are entertaining for kids but still teach them to understand important character traits like honesty, determination, and responsibility. I'm trying to collect all of them for use in my classes. These are books I'm sure I'll be reading to my own children someday and I would recommend them for anyone who wants to raise children with character and good, solid values.   Melissa Starr, North Carolina (NC)

The Value of Helping: I love these books!
I grew up reading the ValueTale series. They are all wonderful books because not only do they teach a value, but they teach about historical people and events. These books are partly why history fascinates me. I would love to get the entire set so my children can grow up with them.   J. Miller -- Utah
